WANA (Nov 25) – In a message shared on his X account (formerly known as Twitter), Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the alarming levels of violence faced by Palestinian women and girls in Gaza over the past year.

Baghaei stated that “tens of thousands of Palestinian women and girls have been killed or injured in the past year alone,” describing the scale and intensity of violence as “unprecedented and shocking.”

Marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Baghaei called attention to the “extreme violence generated by decades-long cruel occupation & colonial erasure project in occupied Palestine.”

He further emphasized that “all mothers, women, and girls in Gaza are subjected to hunger and repeated forced displacement.” Baghaei urged the global community to take a stand, asserting, “The world must act in defense of Palestinian women and girls.”
